Hi there, I have some questions which I am sure to some may seem dumb, but I have to know! I plan to get a 2005 M3, by order, or when they come out and am leaning towards the Phoenix Yellow. Am I insane by doing so? All the dealers say they never sell that color and such, I think it looks pretty different, however also wonder if I will regret it after the fact. Also, some dealers said they would charge me a larger downpayment to order due to that color and hard to sell.
Anyways, my question, does the M3 come in any form of Auto for my wife who cant drive sticks?
I am thinking to stick witht he stock 18's, since the 19's are prolly too heavy and I could get cheaper and lighter if I wanted tio later, sound good?
anyone know of where I can see the new Gray? I was tld they got rid of Steel ray which was my second choice, also, any pictures of the 2005 stock wheels?
That is about all, Love this site!!
P.S...I haven't heard of much of a change other then Steel Gray being gone and Alum Trim inside standard(heard there is a new trim, no one has ap ic or can describe it to me though, any ideas?), anything else I need to be aware of for 2005, my dealers around did not seem to know. I heard something about a sport package, however it gets rid of the controls on your steering wheel?
is the 2005 m3 still e46???????? i like phoenix yello i think it looks cool, it's different, most people get red, black, grey, or silver so i would always recommebd laguna seca blue or phoneix yellow, no your not insane for wanting phoenix yellow, infact i have a poster in my room of an e46 phoenix yellow m3
Ya I don't think the next generation M3 is coming out unitll 2006, so its still the old 333hp e46 m3, maybe I am wrong. Also think of getting the SMG so your wife can drive in automatic mode, without shifting and you can drive in sequential mode with paddle shifting. It cost bit extra, but really worth it.

get manual, so your wife can sit her ass on the curb
So the SMG has a fully automatic setting then, is that right? No shifting needed? I just would feel more comfortable that way, at least I know she would since once in a while she has to drive my cars and would hate to see my baby in a tree due to her not knowing how to stick shift!
yep it has a fully automatic setting in which you seat back relax and let the car change gears for you, like an automatic transmission. And when in a manual mode you can shift gears using a padel shifter, which shift gears at a strageering speed, much more precise than a human.
