I have come across a 2003 e46 M3 with 90K km or roughly 60K miles. The seller wants $23K CAD (about $18500 USD). Front passenger fender and passenger side quarter have been repainted, probably a small mishap during a fast left hander.
Test driving her tomorrow. Paint and interior very clean. Comes with M-parallels (18s, factory)
I am not new to BMWs or the expense required to run one. i have read about issues involving oil pumps. Are there any other issues I should be looking for. I know my e36's pretty good but not the e46. I appreciate any feedback or advice.
Thanks Gents.

Took her for a test run. Carfax reveals no claims. Woman driven. Fender was painted because she scratched it pulling out of garage. Entire service history at local BMW dealer that I am familiar with. Found my next ride... pending inspection... Thanks. Any other feedback would be appreciated in regards to oil pump issues.

My first Bimmer was an E39 in Montreal Blue so I hold a special place in my heart for your pending purchase. Milage is nice, you do not specify 6 speed or SMG or auto but I hope it is the first. The price of around $18K US seems a bit too high and I'd hope you can do a bit better. I understand you want what you want and now have focused on this baby. May you enjoy her for many safe and happy years! Do take care of her. BTW - any thoughts of some mods? FI? Will you take to the track? Enjoy.

6 speed manual Comes with silly screens in the head rests and a boom box in the back. 'Lady' driver was/is an exotic dancer.... other than that she's bone stock, the car not the dancer.
She's seen no winters and comes with a 4 year engine and transmission warranty.
Mods. Yes, bigger brakes and a better suspension. She goes straight to the shop next week. Whatever isn't factory, screens, boom box etc will be removed, interior refurbished and wheels refinished. Possibly forced induction in the future.
Track... YES! I'm in Montreal, there's an F1 track on the island and a couple of tracks north of the city one of which hosted the early Canadian F1 Races.
Thanks for your feedback on the price. Unfortunately once you added up all the taxes including a luxury tax e46 M3's were selling for 90K-115K new up here. 2003s and 2004s are going for 30K CAD$ plus. The prices used to be even higher but when the new M3 hit the streets this year the used market started dropping.
Before the M3 came along I was looking at a Z4. For some reason the roadsters up here are silly cheap. Might have to do with our winters.

Go for it! Sounds like you are getting a good price given your location. Maybe ask if you can have a lap dance or two thrown in since she won't budge on the price
