2000 m5 front susp noise

I have a 2000 M5 with 95000 miles.The front end has a knocking/creaking noise when driven at lower speeds. Above about 55 it isn't noticable. It also only happens after being driven for 20-30 minutes. After the noise starts I can park the car for 10 min and initially its gone but comes back quicker than the original 20-30 min it took to occur. I've had the car to 2 diff shops but they were'nt able to identify it. I read in BMW Car mag that the newer E60 M5 have a problem like this and it could be nothing more than a loose securing bolt for the front strut tower cross brace. Does my 2000 M5 have this brace because I couldn't see it? Any help would be appreciated, its driving me nuts.

<< i would train my sights on the steering gear and linkage; that's because the steering parts are more pressured and work harder at the lower speeds

but you can go 1 step further in diagnostics and discern for yourself whether the knocking/creaking is the result of a bounce movement(ie... shock/spring travel...); or a result of lateral movement(ie... steering movement fr side-to-side)
