Hey guys..I currently own a 2000 jeep wrangler. Have someone locally interested in trading a 1999 M325. The car is in overall good shape except for rear passenger door where some one tried to break into the car. It has aftermarket 19" wheels and slight vibrations at highway speed which he is having checked out today. The car has 130K on the odometer. I have checked the NADA values and they are close. Any thoughts?
I have never owned a BMW and usually do the maintenence on my vehicles myslelf. Are these cars hard to maintain and are there any issues I should look for if I trade.
19inch wheels are too big for the E36 M3 in my opinion. vibration at speed could be many things including wheel balance, rtabs, front or rear control arms, tie rods, front control arm bushings, pad deposits on the rotors etc
Look at the door plate what does it say? 325i or M3 3.2?

You really need to figure out what car this is that you are being offered. There wasn't a 325 anything in 1999. The last remaining E36s were 323's and 328's, and M3 coupes and convertibles. The E46's were 323i and 328i sedans.
So, if it has four doors and it is a 1999, it can't be neither an M3 nor a 325.
As far as hard to maintain: you just need to stay on top o the regular maintenance. Nothing special.
The Achilles heel for most BMW's is the cooling system. Ensure that it has been serviced recently, or be ready to service after acquisition.
