I have a 1998 M3, the CEL is on. Is there a service port to check the CEL Code without having to go to the dealer and paying $75.00+ to have the code pulled?

I think you can buy the tool to check it yourself for a little more than that.

Wait a while and see if it goes off... They come on for a number of reasons that you probably don't have to worry about. My O2 sensor was setting mine off for a while, but all the sudden it stopped doing it, and hasnt done it for a few months. That is as long as your car is acting ok...

Ok thanks. The car is running fine. I guess I'll just deal with it for a while, even though it is annoying as hell.

Autozone will pull the codes for free.

Recently mine threw a code, cyl 4 misfire.
Light went out after about 3 days (I still need to replace sparks but it still runs fine)
I put in a crappy tank of gas from some shady store that I will never visit again, apparently it fouled my plug or something.
