Hey all, I have been looking for a 1995 M3 with an automatic transmission and and all the ones that I find are sold faster than I can get to the bank. I drive a lot in grid lock and don't like having to shift a lot between lights. As far as I know, the only M3's that came with an automatic transmission are 1995 and the newer ones, which are out of my price range. I could either suck it up and buy a manual or start looking at 328 or 330's. I interested in your guys opinions. Thanks MadBMW

Yep. I had to search for a while to find an M3 auto, as I am unbelievably lazy. I bought a salvaged on for $4k. Rebuilding it right now. Good luck with your search.

I found 2 of them in the midwest here, but both sold with in three weeks. I like what you did, since you knew what you were starting with. I would like to find one and do a carfax and other research on it before buying a lemon. I think will continue to search and I may have to track half across the U.S. to get one, but I bet that they are worth it.

I live down here in the panhandle of FLA, and there's a 1995 M3 Auto for sale on the car lot on the AF base I'm stationed at. I called and they are asking $15,500.
It has 79,000 miles and is yellow (faded on side mirros and skirts). The car wasn't pampered but looks solid. It has aftermarket suspension all around, new lighting all around, drilled rotors, 19" rims, carbon fiber front lip thingy (forgot what it is called) on bumper. Not sure if performance was messed with as I didn't ask. I wasn't looking to buy it I was just curious how much they wanted.
Let me know if you want more info on the car and the seller's phone number, I will be more then glad to give it to ya. Email me if possible as I don't get a chance to get on the forum too much. (Everyday like you junkies) :P
Well I am having trouble with my research on the 1996-1999 M3 coupes. ghead I would be interested in a SMG I, but I am not finding many of them out there. To my knowledge the M3 SMG were only sold in europe for years 96-99. I'm wondering if alot of SMG cars are listed as manuals or what. I have read a lot on the site of the jerkness of the SMG I but I can handle that. I am finding 1999 M3 with A/T, but those are convertibles. I would rather have a convertible than a manual if those are my choices. BMW had no problem sticking the A/T in the 4 door versions, why couldn't they have made it in the coupe. I live in the north and having a stick in gridlock and if I get caught in the snow would be bad. I have a secondary vechile, but i would still drive the bimmer when the roads are cleared off. I also have big feet and it is sometimes hard for me to not step on both the clutch and brake at the same time. If any of you have info on the 96-99 M3 that were shipped to the U.S.A, I would be interested in it. Thanks MadBMW

If you can find a convertible with auto at a reasonable price, I would get it. There weren't too many Left Hand Drive 1998-99 Convertible Automatics made, so they are a bit rare. And by rare, I am refering to around 200 (Numbers found in the book "Original BMW M-Series". by James Taylor, MBI Publishing) made for the US Market.

I found a few that were around $20k. I am starting to wonder if I should pick up a 328 for the moment and wait till I have the enough money to buy a 2003 M3 with an SMG II. what is funny is I actual like the older body style more than the newer more curve style of the M3.

I got my 98 M3 sedan with an auto last fall. I love it. I am way too lazy for a stick and i play around with my stereo and my cell phone too much to be shifting all the time. best of both worlds.
Look on auto trader and ebay, i have had no trouble finding automatic m3's on there. Most are sedans, but try one out. I love it and wouldnt trade it for a coupe.
I just happened to find mine here in my home town in the midwest. It is perfect. worth the pretty penny i am paying for it for the next few years.

Thanks for the reply, I'll have to test drive a seden and see how it handles. I know that the backseat in an coupes is very limited and the extra room in a seden would be nice if I have guests or frisky females, ha ha. The convertibles look like they have very limited trunk space which makes me wonder if the golf clubs would even fit. I also wonder how the top would far in the winter time.

Well guys I found two. One is in Cali and the other is in indiana. I am in Wisconsin so going to Cali is a little out of the question. The only problem with the one in Indaina is that it is RED. I want a black one, but this one is pretty nice.
Here are some pictures. Tell me what you think.

He wants 13,500. It has 97K and it looks really clean. Here are more pictures. What do you think I should offer him for it?

Well how much is the blue book? The interior looks a little beat up. The M power thing on the front window is gay, but you could take that off easy.
Test drive it, thats the only way to know.
I guess 13K is good... i dont know...mine is a 98 with 72K miles, perfect condition, and i wouldnt take less than 20 for it....
