I am doing a "do it yourself" turbo for my 95 M3. I am using a GT35 that will feel my fully built engine. I've been told to use 3.5" from the turbo back. Which muffler should I use? I've been checking out the Borla's, specifically the XR-1 Series. Can anyone give me any specifics they've used or heard of from their own experiences? Thanks a million.
Borla sounded great on my z3, though I kinda prefer the hooker aerochamber, which is what I'm running currently. It's like a magnaflow but with a built in resonator. Neither were FI, though. Sadface.
3.5" turbo back is a bit ecessive. Which GT35 are you going with? How boosted? It's not generally recommended to go bigger than 3" unless you're going for a pretty excessive power number. Stick to 3" and any muffler you want. Unless you're trying to squeeze as much power out as possible, go for whichever one suits you best. Loud, quiet, rubble, or rattle. Heavy or light.
3'' is the biggest you would need IMO. Any free flowing muffler would be fine.
