Engine Transplant

So lets see, I want to buy an E32.

First of all, I don't really care which one I buy (millage wise) because i'm asking this question because I want to change the engine from the V8 to an I6.

All information about this change would be greatly appreciated!

(1) Which engine is recommended (must have less than 8 Cylinders and 200kW of power).
(2) Can that engine use the 5-speed that would be in the car originally, if not, what would be recommended to fit the recommended engine.
(3) Electronics (i.e. ECU ect.)

How about doing this to an E38?

P.S. If it helps, i'm from Australia

Both the e32 and e38 were available with a straight 6, so a swap would be unnecessary.
Not in Australia (for the E38's) and I would like to do this because of P-plate legal requirements (i.e. learning to drive ect.) :sadtia

Well ... it's best to start with a I6 car to make for a easier swap.

That said, you'll need either an s50 from a M3, or a S38 from a e34 m5 ... i can't really think of another I6 that's readily available with that much power ... s50 is probably your best bet.
