| Anti-Theft System - HELP!
I have a 1995 540i. Remote died so the alarm went off and the car locked down. Took it to a shop after many different suggestions, they reprogrammed the computer so that the alarm is set by key, not remote. Got it home,the radio says "code" so I punch in the 5 digit code on the radio, it doesn't reset. The digital display over the functions (time, temp, miles per gallon, etc) says "code" also. So, I find a hand written 4 digit code in the owner's manual. Punch that in using time/date set numbers. Hit the code button and the alarm goes off and the car locks down. I really don't want to tow the car and pay another $100 for them to reset it again. I understand that if the car runs for an hour, it resets, but the car won't start. Any suggestions??? |
