316 dashboard lights

I have a 1993 bmw 316. The lights on the dashboard wont come on anyone any ideas what it could be?

first check fuses and or make sure the bulbs arent burnt out. I use to have a 1991 318i that did the same thing. I had to beat on top of my dash to get them to come back on. U ntil i got it fixed, mine ended up being some loose wiring i found after i took the cluster out.
