Airbag #17 and #65

I am working on a 12/93 manufactured date 325i 6 cylinder auto convertible.
The airbag light is on and I am getting both a #17 power supply failure and a #65 no description and would like to know what I am looking at here. A big fix, what type of parts am I looking at, etc? Can anyone help? Thank you.

Unfortunately the airbag system is a gray area for most of us ... only dealer or a shop with all the necessary scanning equipment can tell you what the problems really are.

My light has been flashing since I got the car ... just learned to ignore it.
