Well I was out cruising in the Taurus today, when I see some HID's coming up fast from behind in my lane. When he got close, I saw he was in a new 3 series of some sort. He moved over to the right lane to pass me, and let me tell you I would have none of that so I floored it. And he just kept going faster than me and passed me. I didn't catch up.

I love scotch. Scotch scotch scotch.
I whipped up on this kid in a WRX last night - in the ZHP...with 3 adult passengers besides myself (he was alone) ...my lead increased as our speed increased - seemingly in a very linear fashion...and he only ended up passing me when the wife admonished me for going over 100...(we were at 110)...(so maybe he thinks he beat me after all eh? lol)

wrx have one of the best 0-60, but I doubt they have a good 0-100

yeah I was surprised...but only beacuse I had 4 adults in the car (and he was never in front of me at any point...utiil I slowed down...then he whipped on by of couse). I've run with WRXs before in the ZHP and beat them (one did get out ahead initially - but I rolled past him [pulled even then away] pretty quickly). I don't think a ZHP loses out vs a stock WRX - its pretty even - and the ZHP clearly has the advantage into the triple digits IMO. Again - WRX driver just expect to win...so its fun dashing their smugness a bit....

I believe that the wrx is geared for lower end acceleration.
BMW's are for the autobahn afterall
up to about 120 the wrx would take you, even if it was completly stock.... well more liek 110 you wouldnt touch its corner pannel until around 110.... so i dont really beleive it, but that is because i have a strong wrx background
but hey shitty driver probably the wrx is harder car to drive

Well I'll have to disagree. I've beaten several WRXs by decent margins. I was suprised with this guy only because I had 3 adults in my car and he had no passengers. He kept it resonably close but as speed increased so did my margin (I only pulled up as we reached 110 as my wife complained about the speed!). And again - I've whooped up on several WRXs - the most recent just a few days ago - my 330 ZHP is clearly quicker...what can I say? One WRX (a hatchback/wagon type) got a real good jump on me (I wasn't racing per se - he pulled up along side me and I thought it was an Outback or forester at first...only when he shot out did I decide to real him in and show him real speed - and this I did - quickly and convincingly. (Unmodded) WRXs just don't seem that awfly fast to me - not from what I've seen - and I've driven 2 of them - and admit they were very quick - after a bit of turbo lag - and I liked the handling as well - a fine little car IMO - but the ZHP is clearly faster...

Anyway, I don't want to start a new thread so I am posting my most recet kill story here. My Taurus is good for something, I beat a ricer. I was going into town a couple nights ago, and on my way I see this car behind me that is weaving in and out of traffic. He caught up to me, in the lane right next to me, and I saw that it was a white Integra with tinted windows and a tin can exhaust. He kind of cut me off, so I got pissed and pulled up next to him and stayed there. Luckily enough, we were stopped by a light. When it turned green, I gunned it and took off. I don't think he knew we were racing, but by the time he figured it out, I had slowed down to the speed limit. I then saw him coming up fast from behind to do a ricer flyby, so I floored it again. He was able to get about even with me when I started pulling and then had to slow down for a light. We were like two lanes apart at this light, and when it turned green, he was able to get up front and speed away because I was stuck behind some cars. After I got out of that jam, I sped up and caught him, stayed next to him for a minute, and then took off. My turn came up, so I was stopped in the left turn lane, and when he passed by he flipped me off. I guess he was embarrassed. Anyway, I can have fun in the Taurus for now, until I get my Bimmer.
