We were in florida for a last vacation before school starts up, and I completely did not want to be there because once we're back in the school schedual and all, I would never get to see some of my friends.
So, saturday I took a flight back home by myself just to spend the day with my girlfriend and best friend. I got to my house around 5:15 or so and then headed to pick up the girl.
Called my friend who hurt his knee the night before, plans were to head over to his house, watch a movie and chill there for a bit. I was about 1/2 mile from the street to turn to get to her house when it happened.
It's a 5 lane highway. 2 for each dirrection of traffic and a center turn lane. I was in the left lane for my side, put on my blinker to change because my turn was comming up, I looked to the side to check for cars, and as I start merging, my front left hit the back right of the lady (with her husband and 3 children) infront of me. The only reason I can conclude that we hit is because she didn't use a blinker and was trying to change lanes at the same time I was. It's the only way that I can figure it would have happened.
They loaded her on a stretcher, but hadn't left the scene after my sister showed up and they were still there after the cop dismissed us, so our best guess was it wasn't very serious or else they would have left for the hospital.
My car was declared undrivable because a piece of metal or something lining the wheel well was hanging down and touching the tire. The cop wrote me a citation for following too closely and the court date is Dec. 13.
So my great day went to shit in the matter of 2 - 3 seconds. Ugh.
