I was on my way to the airport and I started to follow this nice looking STI. After a while an EVO 8 came out of nowere and started to follow the STI very closely. The STI gassed it and pulled a crazy move to get through a pack of cars, at the same time the evo is gassing it in the center divider and takes the STI instantly. It was a great experience, the perfect showdown!!!! I felt bad for the STI because I like them better than the evo 8 even though it is faster. This was a great looking evo, had a exhaust and full tint which looked great!!!
that's lovely, but what does it have to do with Bimmers?

i find it interesting as i have a buddy that is carzy about the STI since he works at a dealership. but get this he thinks it can take a E39 M5 or a E46 M3 :

STI's and e46 M3's run pretty even. Since M5's aren't really faster until you're over 90ish mph it I'd say they are pretty even as well. But the bimmers will pull ahead about 90-100 over the STI
just another interesting fact:
i read in car and driver , they had a table of specs listed, a 760 will stop in about the same distance as an STI from 60MPH!! and the STI has huge brebo brakes against the factory BMW brakes!
and the 760 probably weighs twice as much. god bless the germans.

They are both ugly cars with gorcery cart handles on the back. But they are also All wheel drive, they will ALWAYS take a rear wheel drive car on a drag, they have more pull. Just look at Audi Vs BMW in a Le Mans race, the all wheel drives gets the Audi off the line, but thats it. I will take my M3 over a japanese rice burner anyday. That and most women would rather be seen in my car than a little Evo. But props are due, two very fast cars. I don't mind hearing a story about a different make of car on here, it's interesting. But if you saw this happening in front of you why not join the fun????
I've heard that stock-to-stock, Evo's are averaging more horsepower to the wheels on the dyno than STi's. Something about Subaru being a little too generous with marketing and stuff.
