my girlfriends parents just gave her a 99 acura tl 3.2 and we decided to race (its amazing how people assume BMWs are always fast) . . i figured there was a chance she would be a puss about it and i could somehow win.. i got totally destroyed.. by the time i was at about 40 she was a car legnth ahed of me
maybe if i ahd a 328 i would've been able to take her

I dunno man, my e46 328 has been beat by some of the 3.2TLs. I haven't bothered to look up the stock numbers on those acuras, but they must be higher than mine. It's still a fun jaunt though.
I dont think so man, it depends on how u shift and the acuras have like no low end torque. they are pretty slow in the initial RPMs but i dont know about it on highway. I sat in my friends TSX and dude that car was slow.
The first round of TSX's had only 160 ft-lbs torque... and that was max. They had a stock 0-60 time in the mid 7 seconds. In short, my 328i would beat the pants off a TSX. The TL's are a bit beefier.
Yea the TSX's are only pushing 200 hp. 2001+ TL's push 235 or 245 if I remember right. The new TL's have 270.
I've never driven a 328 but my friend's parents have a 2002 3.2 TL (and we test drove a couple before buying our Maxima) and we've made a few muscle cars look silly in it. I'd imagine the TL might win, but I could be wrong. A 330might be a different story though.
My question is...since Acura intended the TSX to be a sports sedan, why didn't they throw an extra 30 or 40 hp into them? A 3.0 V6 with 200 hp seems mighty tame for what their intentions were.
the last gen 3.2tls (98-2002) made 220hp and the type-s made 260. the new tl makes 258hp and like 240ft lbs of torque. i have a 328is and i run neck and neck with a guys type-s at work to about 120.
