The wife and I were on our way to dinner in my 325i when this turboed eclipse comes up on me fast and gets in front of me. No big deal, I see an opening in the right lane and make my move to pass him. So I step on the pedal and my wonderful slush box downshifts. I get about 5-6 car lengths on him before I notice him starting to catch up to me. Well I'm already at wot so I just keep it down and I see him walk on by me . We are prolly at about 105 mph at this time and he just gets back in front of me. We both take the next exit and part ways. Needless to say I hate losing, but, I can't be too mad cause 1) he's got a turbo, 2) he's got more hp (210) and trq (214) and 3) he's got 5 speed. oh well, it was still fun. kinda.

dsms are unreliable in my experiences but when they are running they are fast mfers and dirt cheap to mod. i know this dude who has a 95 gst with like 333whp and he can keep up with a c5 z06 i believe. he spent about 9k total for the car and mods.

Shoot man that's a friggin lot of horsepower for a little 4 banger. But ya if I spent 9k to upgrade my car and then raced him I would make him cry!

my brother had a 98 gst that was running 392 hp to the wheels. It ran about every other week though, constant problems until his timing belt slipped and welded a spark plug to his piston and shot a connecting rod thru the block...

The look on his face must've been ... PRICELESS

I was in the car when it happened. Just driving at 60mph and it made some wicked noise, a big thud and it started to chug a little. We pulled over to the side of the road and looked it over, couldn't tell anything was wrong. He didn't wanna take any chance so we trailered it home and found a purprise when we took the head off... He's still got the piston with the welded spark plug stuck to it, he uses it as a paper weight in his house. I'll see if i can get a pic of it, it's pretty crazy
