I was on a very long, almost perfectly straight road, and wanted to test out my car. The fastest I've ever gone is 110 (not that its slow). So I get over 120 and waiting for my governer to stop my acceleratin and the speedo just kept going. Up and up and up, and finally to 135. My speedo is off about 5mph, but it just hit me a minute ago-the governer is set at 125 isnt it? Either way it was way fast and i got to thinking again, we could have died so easy (we being me and the few friends that i had). So ya my story sucks, but i got up to atleast 130ish.
thats pretty damn fast for a road, i did 120 on the freeway and it was a little bumpy. ill push mine harder to see if my limiter kicks in, but it was still pulling like a train at 120.
I've hit about 135-138, I didn't wanna go further and it was creeping up really slow cause i have an auto... I dunno, I guess the governer is set at like.. 5mph under our top speed?
How accurate is the little OBC where you push 'speed' then 'set'? Thats how i figured out it was off because the OBC was the same as the stupid speed trailer CHP puts out. The speedo was 5mph wrong, going like 25mph (speedometer reading 30).
eat chip gives the governor the boot. All BMW speedos go up to 160 i blelieve, and boy seeing that orange pin take a seat right above 160 is beautiful. 159 top speed.
