A few nights ago, my girlfriend and I were on our way back from the grocery store; she in her Mazda 6s (220 hp), me in my 328i (196 hp). It had been raining, and I knew my tires rep for slippery roads, but we were feeling competitive so we figured what the hell, let's see who can show off the most. So we make a right out of the parking lot onto the 1-way northbound lane... Immediately after that, she makes a quick U-turn to head into the southbound lane across a set of 12-foot wide paint stripes. I could have been the nice guy and just followed her, but what kind of bimmer-man would I be then? I turn off the DSC and gun a U-turn on the inside of her... by the time she was straightened out and ready to run, my car was looking like it would Nascar her right off the road. We're lined up by this point, both in 2nd gear and running straight, pretty even for the next quarter mile... Then the traffic times the rout perfectly: the car in her lane is going too slow for her to pass me and my car is turning out of my way. So for the last half-mile, I drop to 3rd , hit the gas and wind up waiting for her in the parking lot.
Mad props to the 6s, btw. It really does handle quick curves about as well as my 328i.
hahaha good story man. You are a lucky man to have a GF that is that into cars and driving... mine barley knows a honda from a BMW lol. Hold on to that one!

coming home from lakeport(45min drive) i was headed towards the gfs house. She was in her Subaru Baja AWD and i was in the 318. So we get it up to 110 on a straight, and ripped around some twisties at like 50-60. Good times. We were about even, she had me on some turns because of AWD. She also has no fear....crazy driver. We got there at the same time due to traffic.
Well, I drive with my wife. She drives the brand new Touareg, and I drive <<<the "Turtle". She thinks she's got skillz because she parked a car in a tree once. My car is slow, but I can drive moderately well. On the curvies, I've got her, on the straights, forget it. The Touareg kicks ass. I know if we were in duplicate cars, I would own her. She doesn't like any kind of drift or hanging the ass out around a corner. No fun.
Drive on, Bimmerheads.

My girlfriend has a Civic, but she's into the nicer cars. We can be driving down the road and half the time she spots the Lambos, Ferraris, or M5's before I can. Or if I call a car she's like "No, thats not XX, that's a year 2003 YY" For example.
my lady friend just got a C230 Kompressor coupe, i took it on the canyons around, man that car is VERY capable, i dont like the 'sport shifter' at all though, it lags A LOT when you want it to shift, but it has lots of power for the small engine. Only think i dont like other then the shifter is that the big pillar on the left of me always is in my view.
she loves it when we go canyoning and has a blast, so its awesome.
