Ok, i've been thinking of what car would win. An american raw power vehicle Pontiac GTO. or any bmw under 40,000 american dollars. The GTO comes stock with 6.0L v8 400hp. Its rear wheel drive. I dont know the gear ratios, but if the same driver raced the GTO and a bmw, which would be faster? Please tell give me your reasonings.

omg... just look up the hp, torque and curb weight of what ever cars you want and figure out the power to weight ratio and then look at the final drive ratios and that will tell you.

0-60 for GTO is like 5.6, and a Mroadster with the S54 engine(2001) does it in 5.2, so it would own it

If you're talking strictly NEW cars, the GTO would easily hand any new BMW that's under 40k its ass. It runs low 13's in the 1/4, which I'm assuming would be your race.

If you want to talk USED cars, then that's a whole different story. There are plenty of cars period that you can get for less than 40k used that would handle the GTO.

With GM there isn't a 'status' charge. If it doesn't go fast or haul a lot of stuff, it's cheap.
