Other Peoples Trans Ams are fun to drive...

So my friend that has the mid 90's Trans Am surprised me the other night. Long story before this.. but basically we got dropped off at his car at about 4:30ish AM Friday night in a movie theater parking lot. He always brags about his car whenever it comes up and I had never seen him drive it like he had any balls. So I say "hey why don't you finally show me what this can do". So he drives around the parking lot "letting the car warm up" then starts to "show off". Gets the rear a little loose turning through the parking lot, gives it "some" gas on the straight aways... basically boring. He stops the car and says "you want to drive it?".

Now the significance of this is that no one else has driven the car since he bought it almost years and years ago. So of course I said sure, expecting some "rules" about no drifting or whatever. But there were none, if fact he said go for it. So I drifted this beast all over the parking lot, brake drifts transferring to just full power over drifts, other times just flooring the gas while turning tightly around a lamp... then backing off as correcting with the steering... finally getting smooth at the corrections after a few attempts.. after about 15 mins including his time driving, we had noticed earlier that there was a car in front of the theater, the parking lot lights starting flashing as well as all the lights on the front of the theater. So We took that as a sign that he was saying "that's enough". So we moved on the baseball stadiums parking lot...

More of the same ensued. I drifted all over that parking lot as well and had a great time. Bulky beastly car... but fun when its some one elses and you're not paying for the tires. I still wouldn't ever buy one...

you dont drift when you have something that actually makes torque, its called a power slide Difference being that with a muscle car you just stand on it and the back end kicks out where as on rice mobiles you have to use e brakes, faints etc to get the back end out...

i wouldnt, they have one tragic flaw, solid axle...i like to turn, dunno about you, but thats the last thing you want in the turns...

id buy one for the motor and 6 speed trans thats about it...

that being said, they are fun to drive but it gets boring fast just having something with brut power and no sophistication... its fun to change it up now and again though

well its not like it would be my only car. it's just a good car to cruise in and maybe do some drag racing if thats your thing. thats what muscle cars are all about.

That's it? No races, windy roads, nothing? You burned rubber on a parking lot, I am sadded. If I let you drive my car we wouldn't be friends anymore.

On the bright side if you get arrested in the US for car shenanigans they will send you to Japan. At least that's what I saw somewhere . . .
