| First off, some of you might remember my 2002 that I drive; well it has been broken for some time since I have been at college. So while I am home on my winter break I have been driving my mom's passat wagon V6. not a bimmer, but still german made.
So I have been dying since I have not been able to drive the canyons lately, so I decided to take the passat up mullholland last night. I turn onto the slighyly windy road connecting me to the mountain pass and there is a Kouki S14 (97-98 nissan 240 SX) ahead of me going pretty quick. I stay pretty close to him and right before we get to the tight canyon he pulls over. I roll my window down to talk and it turns out he knows me and my 2002 through forums and from spiff's website (sticky-flo.com). so I tell him to go first since I probably won't keep up in my front wheel drive WAGON.
There is not much more to the story from that point except that I was on his ass the entire way up the hill. I don't mean I could just see him, I was no more than half a car length back the whole time. He made two mistakes, hitting the apex of two turns massively early causing extreme understeer (mistakes I predicted he would make) and each time I was able to position myself within inches of his bumper after he corrected.
After talking with him at the top of the hill, he suggested I go first down. It took me all of two turns to loose him.
I love taking people to school in cars that are superior to mine. Hopefully there will be more to come when my 02 is finally fixed this week.
