I'll make the story real quick, since being french canadian, my English is not that fantastic.
I'm on a 3 lanes highway, center lane, going 120kph. In my left mirror I see two motorcycles coming at about 130kph. The second motorcycle is doing a one wheeler. All my windows are down, life is good, that guy is having a blast, so I give him the thumb's up as he get close to me. He slows down next to me, tilts his head to say hi, probably thinking life is good too. He then passes me, putting his legs on top of his handle bars. (dont ask me how he did it, but it looked really cool)
So now I switch to the left lane, following the two motorcycle guys. Now like everyone on the highway is looking at them, since he has been doing the handlebar trick for more than a minute, changing lanes and passing people. Right in front of me is this huge white delivery truck that's going 120kph, and feels like staying in the left lane. I keep a good distance between him and me, but not what is probably recommended by the government officials or something.
Like I said, we are all watching the handlebar trickster doing his stunts, when suddenly the white truck veers right (into the center lane) forcing a car already in the center lane to go to the right lane. As soon as the white truck starts to veer, I see in front of me the scariest thing I've ever seen while driving: A totally stopped cement truck completely in the left lane. Ya, the same lane the white truck was in, and the same lane I'm still in. My heart stops, I quick-look on my right side (center lane) and give a quick jerk on the steering wheel to the right. Vroom, I just missed the cement truck. My car behaved just like I asked it to, giving me total control over the situation.
I do not think this would’ve turned out the same way with my old civic. Thanks BMW for making some kickass cars.
