I live in an area with a good amount of back or canyon roads. My commute is 30mi and i have the choice of taking the FWY or the Back roads. Well....we all know which is the better choice. So...I'm rolling along having a good drive, catching some drifters here and there but, staying relatively conservative as these roads are scatered with houses and early morning joggers and such. I would hate to ruin someones life as well as my own! I just came through my favorite section, a series of 7 tight 20mph turns, banked and on about a 2-3% grade (awsome both directions!) I crest over the top (which when going the other direction has a nice kicker in the first turn) the road straightens and back into two more tight 20 milers. Well...coming out of these @ aprox 55 with my food burring into the throttle as I straighten out, Here he comes around a corner in the other direction. I was tacking 5k and was able to get some good compression braking but, figure I passed him in mid 40s. We made eye contact.....and I knew rigth there he was going to flip a B..ch! He had some traffic behind him and no good places to turn around for about 1/4 mile. As soon as he was out of sight I "nailed it" knowing that two miles down the road I can connect with with another road that will take me right to the FWY. Just about this time a friend of mine calls me.
Hey...what are you doing?
Ditching a cop. What are you doing? LOL
Looking in my rear view....there he is at the end of a long straight about 3/4 mile behind me. My turn comes up, a left, nice little drifter and hauled @$$ to the FWY.
still on the phone (I have an ear piece so I can still drive) yes...it looks cute!
OK...I'm clear and we continued our conversation. Then stopped at the local K for some coffee. It wasn't supper dramatic but, for a 38 year old with two kids I was pretty fired up!!

Way to go! Nice story...got lucky this time....I'd be a bit more cautious the next time you pass a cop in the oppostie lane...you might not get the break that you did.
hahaha, that is great, the best is that you take the time to talk to someone and explain what you are up to while you are doing it

nice escape...reminds me of the time spiff passed a cop in the canyons at about 85 MPH i think it was. it was marked a 35 zone if i am correct, so he just hauled ass all the way up he hill, down the other side to the beach, and back up a different road back home. lol never got caught.
i guess it is massively different though for someone with a family to look after. for us teens we really don't have much to clog our minds at times like those
