Me Vs Gti

coming home from work lets see.... wednesday... the first day before the snow. yellow gti rolls up next to me. its a beatiful car. nice body kit rims lowered CF hood etc. i have seen the car around town many times (ill take pics next time i see it if i got the camera with me) anyways hes got the vr6 badge on the front, so i was thinking this wasnt going to look good... anyways we get on the free way im low in 4th and i downshift to 3rd and we are off. so im climbing in 4th and i look in my rear view mirror and see hes atleast 5 cars behind me. turns out hes just got the vr6 badge and not the vr6 so i killed a 2.0 not vr6..... not as cool! anyways thats my kill for this week.

a friend of mine has an Evo 8....damn thing is so fast. to bad he sucks at driving it.
but ya, he would rape most bimmers. it would probably take an E46 M3 to give a good race

i dont know about taking the e46 m3.... i know the sti loses to the e46 m3, atleast the races i have seen between them, (in real life at the strip) which makes sense to me... and isnt the evo 8 a little slower than the sti due to the sti being a 2.5 litre etc... which in all makes the evo 8 way more impressive since its ALmost as fast as the sti out of a 2.0 litre.... to bad the evo 8 dont got the boxter engine though! makes it haha

bigred - there are many different model evo 8 all of which would beat an m3 and a couple of them would destroy them so badly it would be embarrassing to watch. Take for example the brand new 2005 lancer evo 8 FQ400 which has a top speed of 175mph and a 0-62mph time of 3.5 seconds compared to the m3's 155mph/5.5 respectively.

Even the slowest evo 8 the FQ280 has a 0-62 time of 4.8 seconds which is still 0.7 quicker than the M3. I once watched a tv program over in the uk called 'top gear' and they raced a lamborghini murcielago vs the evo 8 fq400 and the evo kept up all the way around the race track no problem... I dont think an m3 could keep up with a lambo, do you? Oh and the quarter mile time for an fq400 is around 11 seconds I think.

You cant really compare a bmw m3 to an evo because they are two totally different cars. The M3 is your super quick business execs car where as your evo8 is a stripped out road legal rally car which is designed for one sole purpose - to rally.

I think the M3 would give an evo8 280 a decent run for its money (but still not beat it) but the evo8 FQ400 is absolutely nuts, it's an evo8 on serious amounts of steroids, this thing can do 0-60 as quick as a ferrari enzo and can keep up with the best super cars costing 5 times more!

The M3 is a really nice car, look at the kit it has inside compared to an evo8. Personally i would choose an M3 over the evo simply because of the luxury combined with speed... I would rather be cruising down the motorway (freeway) in an M3 with cruise control and heated leather sports seats than caining it down the motorway having my spine jarred over every bump like in the evo8 (maybe be a slight exageration on the ride quality of the evo compared to the beamer but you get what i mean).

Anyway nuff said both are different cars which excel in their own merits...

Adam, your friend doesnt have an Evo 8, Evo 8 is something that came out like 3 days ago...i bet its normal Evo 6 or something, not the 400bhp one...
