M3 vs. Mustang GT - BMW Forum

A fairly new one, not sure exactly but at least a 2002.

Lined up at the light with the guy on my way home from a bimmer meet here in SLC. Neither of us rev'd or looked at other or anything so I didn't think anything of it, plus the guy looked to be in his 30's with his wife. Light turns green and he guns it, catches me off guard. I punch it and try to keep up, he is probably 12 car lengths ahead of me and not gaining, shift to 2nd and I start gaining very very slowly, shift to 3rd and start pulling more, by now I am about 1 car length back and he shuts down and makes a turn. I honked and waved.

It's funny because I have been waiting for a mustang kill ever since I got my car, I missed my perfect oppurtunity. I had also been telling the guys all night how badly I wanted a mustang kill.

damn..almost had him..not really a nice kill cuz it wasnt..but i can tell ur m3 has the power to go vroom vroom and fly..

those stangs have 260 hp, but you could definitely dominate him in every way, especially through the twisties

i thought they had more then that. Its the ones with the hood scoop, 2002 and newer i think.

i am actually kind of glad no one was reving or anything, I would have just embarresed my self. I have only attemted to launch my car twice now since I have owned it. One launch I bogged and the other I sat and spun the tires through 1st and 2nd.

Oh well I lost but I will get me a mustang sooner or later.
