Before anyone calls BS, this was NOT IN THE BMW, it was in the supercharged Trans Am. I was on my way to visit a friend at Carson Newman (that's a college here in Tennessee, I'm used to being on local forums, lol), and I was on this road which is beyond perfect for racing. Anyway, I come up beside a brand-spanking-new Porsche Carrera S, I seriously think he was driving home from the dealership b/c it had the paper drive-out tag and everything. I was driving beside the guy (who happened to be 55-ish) just checking out the car and drooling. I don't know if the guy just thought I wanted a piece, or I made him mad, or what. All of a sudden, from about 70, he drops it into third . Now, as far as stock cars go, there's not much of anything short of a (new)Viper that wants a piece of a blown LS1 until you get into the rediculously expensive cars, but that Carrera was FAST for a non-turbo Porsche! I was faster than him, but not by as much as I thought I would have been. If anyone on this board has one of those things, kudos on an excellent choice at the dealership.

damn you for puttin Porsche to shame. jk, the thing I liked most about your story is it sounded like it was a safe road and a safe race, no winding through traffic or any of that reckless Deloriant shit (jk Del). Nice job tho, you should post pics by the way of your Trans Am
Actually, I haven't dynoed the car yet, b/c it's awaiting a set of headers and an LS6(stock ZO6) cam. Once these are in place, I'll dyno the car. Obviously, there's no way to know for sure, but LS1 cars with the same modifications that I will have and a good tune in the PCM generally put down 480-500 rwhp and about the same rwtq.

I hate to hear that, but at least your respectful. Most rednecks running around "our" neck of the woods would merely bash such an amazing piece of German engineering. I don't know about track performance, but on the open road, not much can beat American muscle. Especially when it's to the perverted extent you've taken it to.
Why, thank you. I have to admit, the Trans Am isn't ready to go carve up the track just yet, I have a lot of suspension components left to get before I can lay claim to something like that.
