So anyways last night around 9pm i was taking my buddy over to this school parking lot so we can get out of traffic to teach him how to drive some stick...im going around the corner to the parking lot when these two teenagers jump out of the middle of no where. I swerve to miss them and next thing i know my car smack up against the curb. All this and im watching the two people run away.
I checked out to see what the damage is and basically the trailing arm is bent to match the lower arm (i think thats what they are called) my wheel is pretty much diaganol. And there is a little bit of fluid coming out of my cv joint. When it comes to driving it, it wont budge when i have traction control on, but when i have it off then the left side of the car pushes it along. But ever foot or so i hear a clunking noise coming from the cv joint or something. Im guessing my shaft there is gone. and i know the lower arm is gone. Im going to jack it up today to see if i can find anymore damage...If you guys have any info, other things i should worry about, or even how much the cost of this is going to kill me...please feel free to let me know! As for those people who thought it would be so cool to jump out of the bushes..
The whole ironic thing of this is that i had just gotten done waxing the car and put in a full tank of our famous $3.06 a gallon of gas. What a night!
insurance would...but they would still look at it as my fault, so i would get a ding on my insurance, pay a 500 deductable, and then have to pay an extra 100 bucks a month. Come to find out i can get the parts pretty cheap...it looks like im going to have to buy an output shaft. What is it that the output shaft connects to? the wheel hub?
Last night my bro was driving and some jaywalkers popped out out on the street causing 2 cars to slam on their brakes in front of him and he rear-ended 1 car and watched the little dog in the ladies car hit the front windshield.
ouch poor dog...did it splatter or just hit the windshield? either way that sucks. Fortunately i didnt get rear ended or anything like that...i just thought it was bull that it was a couple kids trying to pull some shit to be funny. And then to watch them run away after i hear a loud bang when my wheels hit the curb. im trying to find a good place to buy parts. it looks like i can get the wishbone and the bushings for it for about 60 bucks. the output shaft..well thats a different story..im looking at about 350 for that. then i have to buy two more rims...yay...im so excited. anyone have any 1997 e36 rims they are selling? haha id rather not spend the 250 bucks for some new ones. each.
ah i hate pedestrians, they really should make it like on the other side of the world where the driver has right of way all the time, then people wouldnt try stunts like that.
I have also had pedestrians. Closest I came to hitting one was on a two lane road. A group of kids with a bunch of skateboards was just chillin, walking down the side and running around. I lucked out and the other lane for oncoming traffic happened to be empty on a normally busy road. Do you guys have problems with people coming at you driving on the wrong side of the road? Well I do and that just drives me crazy. I dont understand what makes you want to drive on the wrong side of the road.
ya...it sucks...i kinda wish i had hit the damn teenagers now that i found out about how much its going to cost me...what really gets to me is that they did it on PURPOSE to get me to swerve out of the way....
Ya i called the police, but knowing the california PD they wont do anything about it unless i had like the actual names of the people. I couldnt tell them that much since it was dark when all of this happened. RIght now im looking at the damage and im about 500 in the hole plus the cost of rims and tires. Im thinking i might as well get all new rims and tires, since im already going to replacing two and i wanted to get 17's anyways. Ahhhh! i hate walking everywhere now!
I had a F**king pedestrian walk out of traffic from now where into my lane while I was riding a friends motorcycle last week. The asshole just froze like a deer in the headlights. I was coming out of a turn and grabbed a fist ful of the front brake a damn near stoppied, meanwhile the bike started to sway side to side from the stop. I managed to get it most of the way stopped and kept the shiny side up. Needless to say I was swearing and going off telling the guy where you could put it. The nice thing about motorcycles versus cars is that everyone around you can hear you yelling, once the guy got out of the way I reved the engine popped the clutch and damn near wheelied away. Fucking pedestrian.
Take comfort in the fact that if you hit one in your car, you are just going to hurt your car. Hit one on a bike and you will probally end up laying next to the guy bloody, and broken. As for the pedestrians, they no the risks they are taking!
