now that i've regained my composure. i'll add my story to the list.
Time: Today - 4:10 (about 1 hour ago)
Setup: Driving home on a country back road from the grocery store, heavy on the pedal because it's a beautiful day, and im late.
Crusing about erm. 80 i'd say. now this road isn't very long, but it's only got a few smooth curves and some good straight, open road. time to use your imagination.
Description: You come out of a 60 degree or so turn to about a 200-yard straight away before the last turn on the road. I took the turn pretty hard, little squeel in the tires from it but nothing bad. until .. dum dum dum. on that little straight away, the only other car i pass on the road the whole time just happens to HAVE BLUE LIGHTS ON HIS ROOF.
he slams on his brakes and as i pass him hes turning around right behind me. now you have no idea how lucky i am that he didn't make the full rotation without backing up because of a drop off on the shoulder. so i don't know why, and i still dont. but after the last turn is about 45 degrees into a long, 600-700 yard straight away until a stop sign where it dead ends into the main highway for the area.
i floored it and manged to hit right at 130 to which the limiter kicked in. stood on the brakes to check for cars, one last glance in the mirror to see faint blue lights making the last turn in that road behind me. i make my turn and a few cars stack up behind me, and i manage to make it down the road without seeing the lights again. so.
theres my story. i could have been pulled over today, but out of pure adrenaline i ran, and made it away.

that's crazy.. maybe if I had balls and didn't drive a civic I could pull that off too. I have a road just like that around here.. ah! that must be a great feeling getting away though
