| I was driving home Friday night on this three-lane city street (Route 1 through Alexandria), being in the middle lane and needing to turn left eventually, I got off the block quickly on a light so I can cut to the left lane. And there he was, a massive new Hyandai Santa Fe GLS speeding up with me in the left lane, at first I thought he was just driving fast as well, so I let off the pedal, fully intending on getting behind him so I could change lane, the A-hole slows down as well, that's when I realized he wants to play.
The background of this street we are on is that it's one of those completely straight, has like a dozen intersections all synchronized to turn green in sequence, but if you pick up speed too fast, you get a red on each intersection. The blocks aren't very long so I am usually barely into second before I had to shut down for the next red. Anyhow, for the next about 6 or so stoplights, I toyed with him, each time I can hear him rev up at me and go WOT. I would follow suit, by the time we hit the next light, I've got him by almost two cars. And he doesn't give up! So over and over again, I smoked him, and he keeps going until we finally get out of the city to a somewhat long and curve stretch of road without stoplights, I just got tired of playing dropped the hammer and left him. I suppose the car saleperson told him too many fairy tales about the performance of his V6 SUV... |
