There i was saturday night driving home from the movies after i had dropped off my GF. A friend of mine from pulls next to my 93 740 iL at a red light on the corner of 16th and mt. Vernon. i had a highflow muffler, cold air intake, kyb shocks, HR springs, Pirelli 245 40 18 tires, and alloy rims that weighed only 16 LBs each. With the ecu mods, i was at arround 290 HP to the ground. My buddy had a B16 civic with a Gt28 turbo and a 100 shot of nitrous, with so many other mods, i cant even name them all. we launch when the light turns red with no other traffic. We are equal for the first 1/8 of a mile. I hear his nitrous spool his turbo off the line. i can tell he's in third but since i have an auto, i just shift in to the lowest gear when i launch, then put it into drive. we go another 1/8 mile and he is still keeping up but his engin begins to fade as he shifts into fourth, i'm doing about 115 by now and he's still close. by the curve in the road he's no longer in sight. In the end my four-door 3900 pound car masacred a 1300 pound 190 HP civic.

you make is sound like you don't have the car anymore...."I had higflow muffler" had??? and how does a b16 with turbo and nos only put down 190 HP? This sounds kinda bogus to me. But either way nice kill if it is true

Maybe only 190 if it's a small turbo, and the nos was meant for a larger turbo; maybe the guy didn't have enough yet for the big turbo, so he's got the nos waiting!

Crap, I think I may be a yuppie...

You got nearly three hundred horsepower to the GROUND with just a cold-air intake, a highflow muffler, and ECU mods?

Uhh... a '93 740iL only has 282 crank horsepower.

And they weigh almost 4100 lbs without any gas or a driver in it.

I think your estimates are a little ... overblown.
