well of course its halloween...so my friend and I were driving to another friends house for some festivities, when I got a sudden rush to speed.
So of course like any other dumbass teenager with a some what fast car we decided to go for a straight away. We hit 115 there and the way back. A bug flew in my window and hit me in the chin that didnt feel good but other then that it was fun.
Then like five minutes ago I look away at a house for a sec and a deer jumped in front of me..I slowed down, of course with no clutch cause i wasnt thinking, so the car stalled. I came within a coupla inches of the deer, at which time it ran away. kinda scary.
good thing you didnt hit the deer, makes you seem in experienced with the driving, however, if you didn't even think to push in the clutch. thats like second nature for me when slamming on the brakes hard, both feet go down on the pedals.

Kinda amazing luck. I always wondered if that would happen to me. I used to live in St Augustine and many times driving to Jax I saw deer in the grass next to US 1 off to my right but luckily they never came on the road!
i live in mid michigan and the weird thing is that lately ive been taking the dirt road home, because every time i take the paved way i see/almost hit at least 2 deer,,but ive yet to see one on the dirt road??? weird ass deer

actually, not hitting the clutch might have helped, its kind of like engine braking, if u are going down a hill or a normal road at like 50, and u put it into 2nd, without brakes, the car will definetly slow donwn, and if not, remain at the same speed
at least you didn't push the gas pedal by accident.
funny story from about 2 years ago... my mom's friend (who at the time lived in a apartment complex) was going to park into her spot in front of the building... she hit the gas instead of brake on her sentra and smashed into the building

hey i havent speed in a while, first time in a month or so. Didnt hit the govener..so really the chip didnt do anything. I dont really speed anymore.
I dont know about the clutch thing, i usually slam it when im breaking. It happend so fast. Either way i stopped pretty godam fast.
when my dad was younger(college), he was doing about 45 in his old Mini, and hit a deer, totalled his car ofcourse.
He also went through a drivethrough zoo in London, and monkeys jumped on his mini(a different one), and tore off all the windshield wipers and took the side view mirrors off, LOL.

If you stalled out you would loose power brakes, steering and ABS am I correct? You are very lucky. Maybe you should try high speed driving in the day time to get used to it before you go screaming around at night. You need to learn to handle you car, go to some auto x and run it, go to the drag strip, the track. Learn your car, learn to drive at highspeed and learn to use your clutch when emergency braking.
I'm not try to be insulting at all, I am just sharing what I have done to learn to drive my cars at high speeds over the years. I'm also not saying take it off the street, take it where ever you have to, but learn it first.
Be smart, not a statistic.

oh no i always put in the clutch...just not that time...it was weird. And this speeding was done on a country road with no cars.
yea the car didnt stall until I was almost stopped...so didnt make any difference.
