Hi i have a 87 325is 5 spd all stock and i was wonderin if i can beat a stock 98 maxima with an auto trany . This kid want to race me next week and i would like to know. Thanks.

umm I dunno maximas are fast? Would you take it into redline if you raced? Some old guy in a camry was racing me today like30 minutes ago. I was driving at like 55 in a 50 then this old guy is next to me. My friends were saying oh crap that old guys trying to race you, then he took off so I caught up and flew by him at around 90. They are much slower than maximas I think so it would be a close race for you.

Based purely on statistics of each car, he should win.

maxima's are pretty quick, specially the older ones, i think they are around the 200hp line

95 maximas have just under 200 hp. Well my bros old Maxima did, his was pretty fast tho so I don't think you would beat the maxima unless you got off the line faster.
