i was driving to the gym today (about 2 mile drive - in my civic ex) and there are a few traffic lights in between. i get to one and there are two other cars (two lanes), one in front of me in my lane and a new civic si in the other. the light turns green, he accelerates but def isnt flying or anything, i pass the subaru in front of me and start catching up to him. he starts flashing his hazards.. this means race, right?

my turn was coming up in about 5 seconds and the road merges into a highway in a few miles, and I didn't have time ot waste (also didnt'w ant to embarass myself). so i just turned, he probably thought i upssied out/

I don't think the hazards mean race, more likely a warning about something he saw

Hazards usually signals that you won a race, but I know (at least down here in SoCal), they're also used to signal someone TO race you. Honking and flashing brights is another way to do it.

I know people down here (at least, nice people), flash their brights at you if they just passed through a speedtrap.
