This isn't special at all, but atleast I have one win under my belt in the Bimmer. I have high hopes for this car and hopefully they'll match up in reality sometime soon.
Anyway, I was driving home from a friend's house around 3:30 am, and I ssaw this cavalier driving on the other side of the highway in the opposite direction. (It had a body kit, rims, and other obvious modifications like exhaust, etc.) I said to myself, "Hey, I have nothing better to do and I'd really like to see if I can feel the difference since installing a few minor mods" - yes, i talk to myself - so I made a U'y and flipped it in "sport shift mode"(DAMN AUTO!) and began the persuit..
I caught up to him right as he was turning onto a major highway. I turned onto it at about the same time as him. I then got next to him and gave him a little smerk, and floored it. I felt the auto downshift and jolt me forward a bit - passing him up by a couple car lengths - and I stopped at the next red light. We were next to each other and I noticed he had a manual - started slapping myself for buying an auto - and waited for the light to turn green. He took off better than me - im assuming because it was a 5 speed - but I immediately caught up and began to pass him at a steady rate. Before I knew it I was two car lengths infront of him.
I continued mocking his slow car for about a few minutes afterward, because as I said before, there was nothing else to do
My thoughts:
Mid to upper rpm power is decent in this car, but it's definitely lacking in the low rpm range. Having the auto definitely doesn't help one bit. One thing I do love about this car is the handling in turns at higher speeds. It's VERY fun.

I hope once I add the conforti chip the torque increase will satisfy my need for speed a bit more.
Night.
