This isn't special at all, but atleast I have one win under my belt in the Bimmer. I have high hopes for this car and hopefully they'll match up in reality sometime soon.

Anyway, I was driving home from a friend's house around 3:30 am, and I ssaw this cavalier driving on the other side of the highway in the opposite direction. (It had a body kit, rims, and other obvious modifications like exhaust, etc.) I said to myself, "Hey, I have nothing better to do and I'd really like to see if I can feel the difference since installing a few minor mods" - yes, i talk to myself - so I made a U'y and flipped it in "sport shift mode"(DAMN AUTO!) and began the persuit..

I caught up to him right as he was turning onto a major highway. I turned onto it at about the same time as him. I then got next to him and gave him a little smerk, and floored it. I felt the auto downshift and jolt me forward a bit - passing him up by a couple car lengths - and I stopped at the next red light. We were next to each other and I noticed he had a manual - started slapping myself for buying an auto - and waited for the light to turn green. He took off better than me - im assuming because it was a 5 speed - but I immediately caught up and began to pass him at a steady rate. Before I knew it I was two car lengths infront of him.

I continued mocking his slow car for about a few minutes afterward, because as I said before, there was nothing else to do

My thoughts:

Mid to upper rpm power is decent in this car, but it's definitely lacking in the low rpm range. Having the auto definitely doesn't help one bit. One thing I do love about this car is the handling in turns at higher speeds. It's VERY fun. I hope once I add the conforti chip the torque increase will satisfy my need for speed a bit more.

Night.

When i first started driving the auto I kept hitting the brake thinking it was the clutch. I would just come to a shreeking stop as I stompped on it as if it was the clutch. It was hard getting used to it. LOL

feels so much different using brake with the left foot. have you ever(just when your car is parked), tried to put the clutch in with your right foot? feels a lot harder.

I'd much rather use two feet. I found myself trying to use both feet when I first aquired this automatic and it just didn't work.
