First Time Racing Anyone Ever.

I was with some friends last night. One guy has a Civic. One has a Neon. Both 5 speed, 4 cylinders. They have both done a little but of work to them but are not telling the other person what they have done. The Neon guy has driven alot and knows how to launch very well. The civic no so much. Anyways we all go to a place with a quarter mile marked off and they set up. The Neon gets the jump and beats the civic but they were both not too far off. So Neon pulls back around and I am like ok i should be able to beat him, but who knows(I can't launch, no practice). So we line up for a quick little race and he definately gets the jump on me(we didn't have anyone counting for us just signals to each other). He was a car length ahead of me on the jump but by the end I was at a little over 90 and 2 car lengths ahead of him(that is what the bystanders said, I wasn't paying much attention to him just trying to go fast). So yeah our cars may not be fast but they should be able to beat a Neon and Civic. yeah. It was fun and makes me want to actually take it to the drag strip and see what my times are.

That is kinda funny, because I am not really that young(i belive I am older than about 75% of people here, well at least the e36 owners). I just never actually lined up and raced anyone. I have done the whole stoplight thing and highway thing, but this was an actual quarter mile. Oh well, quarter mile racing is something that is new to me. I have been with other people just not my car.
