So I am out driving my m3 around town, it's a beautiful evening and I have a nice cigar to puff on while I cruise.

I'm on my way back and I'm feeling a bit antsy, lookin blind g for some rice to steam. I see a few different cars, no one seems to interested to race tonight, it's almost like no one wants to break the chill spring evening with the blast of exhaust and tires screaming.

Well, I am almost home, thinking about my turn off to get there and I look ahead and see a big ol' wing.

Looks like a new evo! YEA!

I pass him at about 40 mph (speed limit 35) and he takes the bait almost immediately. He hangs behind me one lane over for a minute, then I hear his engine rev up and he tries to pass me with a fly by...I drop into second and keep up fine, start to pass rather quickly! I'm thinking ...evo's are fast...this thing is getting ass raped! I pass him with ease and drop down to cruising again. He keeps in my blind spot chillin' for now. We end up stopped at a red light. I look over, and he has all the pillar guages, engine sounds like it has a turbo hissing quietly under the hood...I look back, drum brakes on the rear. SO this kid got a turbo upgrade and didnt change his brakes. moron.

So the light turns green and he takes off normally, I do the same, I am ahead of him again, he's in the blind spot and I hear the turbo come up again and he is trying to pass once again.

I let him get even with me, were going about 60 now, and we ride like that for a second, he is giving it all it's worth now, I am chillin in third. I decide it's time to let him have it when the tach gets up to 4K.

I hit it hard and the M3 JUMPS ahead! He is trying in vain to keep up and I am putting distance between us like a fucking concorde.

I feel my point had been made and jumped into a left turn lane at about 80 with the tc off and slid to a stop just in time to not make it into the intersection! He blows by.....total ricer flyby.

SO....

I turn around and there is an e30 325IS next to me. I look over, waiting for him to give me the BMW driver acknowledgement...he stares ahead...the turn light turns green and he jumps his car a little, I'm thinking...."no way this dude is trying to race me...no way..he must have something under the hood."

But his car rattles like its not doing too hot.

So the light turns green and he hits it. I don't even try. I let him go for a second adn then reel him in slow like. I get next to him at about 50 and start blipping the throttle....easily kleeping up of course. He is looking straight ahead with a "uh oh..bad idea" look on his face.

So we get to the next red light. I stay with my bumper at his door this time. Light turns fgreen and he hits it. Spins tires for sec and took off, I just punched it this time, blew by him and shut it down after I put 10 cl between us.

I had to turn right to go home and as I slowed down he caught up, I waved and tapped by horn a few times in a friendly manner. He didn't even nod. What a dick.

Oh well, two more for the M.

hey I got a E30 325iS, but Im start enough to not even think about racin an M3, oh an btw, I always give a BMW ackoledgment. Its always good to have a good BMW community around. I gave this guy in an M Coupe a Shaka Hangloose thing, and he gave it back, then he sped off. Good times, nice kill..

Are you sure that was a evo lancer? THe evos are capable of 0-60 times under an M3. I'm thinking that maybe it was a lancer with a turbo, wing, body kit... unless of course he can't drive. I'm not calling bs, i'm just wondering how sure you are. Others have been own'd by the new evos.

maybe evo was automatic and couldnt hold the gear as long as the M3 or downshift into a suiting gear?

Well if it was an evo you're my new best friend. I've had a grudge against them for some time. I despise them. I wish there was a way to confirm!

Btw..

"I look over, waiting for him to give me the BMW driver acknowledgement..."

People do that? I try that. I see a nice Bimmer and nod my head and he looks at me like "what do you want?" Doesn't work for me..

yeah... the EVo doesnt come with drum brakes so it wasnt an EVO. Just a wanna-be. Besides, the EVO keeps up with the e46 m3's.

is there an offical bmw acknowdegement wave or look?

I've never gotten one but most people here want the status or for luxury. Few for fun...

There is a e46 M3 around that I am pretty sure has it for fun as the licene plate reads fedish

for the BMW acknoledgments, a good head bob or a little piece sign with the hand still on the wheel, or maybe a Shaka/Hang loose sign for the more daring.

every morning i see a nice Z3 when i am making a turn (he usually sits at the light) hmm.. an older guy and he always has this "fuck you, i am better" look on his face. probably thinks i drive my parents car... . i guess i'll give him the thumbs up or something one morning and see how he reacts.

Yeah exactly. Most bmw drivers around here are a bit older - they do not make any nice gestures whatsoever. They look at me like oh look at this kid with the car his momma got him. Most of the time i try the little wave while the hand is on the steering manuever and they either look at me stupid, roll their eyes, or think im trying to say "fuck you." People in new orleans arn't too friendly to start with though.

I can say, however, that I've done the wave to some females in the bimmers and they always react. I don't think it's a bmw thing though. :P
