Civic Vs. 323is

[1980 BMW 323is]

Heres the story. My friend always thought his civic was faster than my BMW. I had always ignored him until yesterday. We were going home from a club like one in the morning. So I start revving at him at a stoplight. We both take off. I had the headstart but i decided to let go of the pedal a little bit to let him catch up. Now he's lined up with me and tries to pass me up. I downshift to 2nd and leave him. The next day i asked him " you still think your hot?". He said i got lucky. I guess he was just mad. :P

why did you even go through the trouble of shifting to third and then back to 2nd... could have just stayed in 2nd the whole time.

Yea... i shouldve stayed in second, but i wasntorried about losing to a stock civic with nothing but a performance exhaust.

which civic is faster... EX or LX ?

Now, a 323 auto with a slipping torque converter... Teh Suck!
I still killed a riced out civic at my school... He's got a Vtec sticker, but who knows.
Kid's got: rims, exhaust, intake, headlights. Sounds like crap. He thinks he's hot shit.... we hit it at a light during lunch one day and I blew by him. He still thinks he's the shit because his brother's gettin an M3 and he's going to "own me"... Yah, he would.... in his brother's car though...

yeah i ahte people like that, i drive my buddies wrx all the time, and i race people and we had this one guy follow us to our office, and was like k come to the meet this saturday ill bring my dads integra GSR, he was in a normal 1.8 integra. to which i replied okay.. cuz the wrx we were in would still beat this gsr haha, even thoug hitsmy buddies haha thought i would tell ya haha

was there a 323 in 1980?

did some research:

E21 323i was produced from 77-82, as a 2 door model.
The engine was M20 producing either 120 hp or 143 hp....not sure about that since i found 2 different figures in two different places. 143 seems more accurate, as the M20 2.5L in E34 puts out 168 ho

I havent seen many if any of the older 323s around. mainly just e36.
