so last night i was bored driving around, and kind of feeling low
i was driving along this long stretch of highway, 2 lanes, 1 going each way. late on saturday night, so there was nobody around at all, besides the traffic on the interstate that it runs along next to it.
anyway, im cruising along at about 70, and decide "ahh what the hell, theres no cops around, i havent driven in a few days" and i gun it.
I knew that there was a LONG and very STEEP slope coming up, and i knew that was my best bet to beat my old speed record of 120 if i didnt wimp out.
so i get the car up to 100 or so as i approach the slope, blowing through an empty intersection.
as the slope begins, i put the pedal to floor and hold on for dear life with the windows down and the sunroof open. the needle quickly jumps to 110, then 120, and climbs up to almost 130, might have hit it im not sure, tried to watch the road.
but i definately hit the governor right at the bottom of the hill, as the car began to ascend back up the slope...
i start to back off the accelerator, but i was still hauling about 100 or so as i reached the top of the hill, preparing to brake. right at that moment of getting over the hill, comes a cop in the opposite direction, flashing lights, with an ambulance behind it. and i was still going 100+, not enough time to pull to the side of the road... but there was no way i could pull over that fast, they didnt have their sirens on
but anyway, my heart drops, and im scared shitless, as the cop and the ambulance pass me, and then keep going in the opposite direction
then i pulled over into a parking lot and tried to feel my pulse
all in all, i am extremely lucky.. thought i should share this with some of you

crazy dude, I passed a cop at 130 also(not trying to compare and stuff), but it is scary, especially running from one..its fun but also scary as f*ck.

i am all for some high speeds, but all in all.. man you have to limit that kinda driving to freeway driving. if you are doing 100 through an intersection at NIGHT?. Then IMO your asking for trouble. if your going to do it once.. most likely you will do twice and so on. That has death of you or someone written all over it. Sorry to sound like the old man, but open stretches of freeway that you are familiar with at 6am on sunday are what those speeds are made for.
I wish I could have heard the cops thought process..... good one...!

get a police scanner, it is amazing, read my post in the Member Lounge. I recommend getting one, it will save your ass. Now I have both a radar detector and a police scanner, pimp!
i know what you are saying, and i too think its dangerous. i was scared shitless and i dont plan on doing that again
it was getting close to 1 am, and the intersection i blew through, it was an intersection to a road that is closed to 1 lane, and that happens to be the 1 coming out of it, so no worries or anyone pulling out
this road is pretty wide and next to a freeway, no ppl around, if that reassures you that i wasnt doing this through any old neighborhood street

I plan on doing it several more times...not to sound like an arrogant prick, but I have good raods around me that I can do that on, so its a little safer.

i was pulling onto the motorway last week, and a cop car sped past me. doing 100/110. by the time i was up to speed, i could still see him, and he could see me, that is if he looked in his mirror. we were doing about 95 at the time. he continued to gun it, and i stayed a safe distance behind, trying to hide behind cars and bends we were going round. at one point, he put on a spurt, and got quite far ahead, so i gunned it at got up to around 130 when i saw him again. after that i eased off, and hid a bit. luckly he didnt notice me keeping up with him throughout the journey, but my heart did stop when we got to a round-a-bout, and it looked like he was pulling up. but lucky for me, he carried on, and i live a free man once again
