Another hit and run driver

So I lend my Dodge Dakota to my neighbor to help her boyfriend move last night. I get a 1:30 am phone call saying they'd gotten clipped in an ally by a hit and run driver.

First off, what the hell is wrong with people? This truck is big and BRIGHT blue! How can you miss it?!

Second, the Baltimore City Police Dept isn't the most effective detective force on the planet. From what my neighbor tells me, th cop pulls up, gets out of her car, doesn't say a word....kicks the broken car parts around on the ground....say's it's a hit and run and leaves. No pictures, no questions. Doesn't even run the tag number of the other car because as she says "the computer in my car is down". As if she didn't have a radio or phone to call back to the station to haveTHEM run the tag so perhaps we could have gotten this guy last night before he'll now have all day to fix his car and destroy the evidence! So I call them this morning and the police dept is like "You have to talk to teh officer who handles the complaint. She'll be on duty at midnight."

Midnight?! MIDNIGHT?! I could have an entire car fixed, waxed, and detailed by midnight! There will be no evidence left of this.

The only thing I hate more than incompetance, is laziness.

Oh this just got better....

So I just called the cops again to see what's going on and if they've found this driver yet, trying to offer into evidence the licence plate number again.

I call the police. THE POLICE MIND YOU and the phone picks up, "Hello". I pause, thinking it's a wrong number I dialed, especially when the next thing I hear is "Hello who dis?". I ask if this is the Baltimore City Police and she says "Yeah dats us".

In shock I try to ask about the incident and all I get is the very clear indication that no one cares.

i know, ive had experience with baltimore city police, some are just... oh my god

but around anne arundel county they have like no crime to report so they book people for the most ridiculous things

This reminds me of the time when my friend brushed the whole left side of his Honda Civic against a parked car. He chose to drive off and told his mom that someone had hit HIM instead.

Simply put, people like this are assholes. If someone would hit my truck and drive off, I'd be pretty pissed myself. Unfortunately, though, it's not very likely that the cops will find out who did it (unless this ally had a camera setup somewhere), but ya never know with a really bright color like that.

I HAVE THE OTHER CAR'S TAG NUMBER!!!!!!

But no one in the police department seems to want to take it!

go down there and make them take it, that is FUCKING RIDICULOUS...stuff the number down their throats

wow that pisses me off..police are supposed to aprehend and punish people, what are taxes for? public services... glad i dont have to pay them yet :lol:
