angry 525i

well as some of u may have seen (on bf.c), i went to denver and picked up a 535i to replace the 525i on the 30th of june.

what i forgot to post up is what happened to me on the 28th.

i was driving home from omaha, (about 50 min drive down hwy/i80). as i near the end of the highway and am about to hop onto the interstate. my car gong's at me. as E34 owners, i'm sure you all know how hard my heart started beating and how high i jumped at that sound. praying its just a tail light out, i glanced down. what do i see?

at this point i'm just like "uh.....no way....."

so i put the car in neutral, turn the car off completely. wait about 5 seconds, and start it back up. yep. still says its -535 degrees out.

wondering if this is really happening or if its just a creepy twilight zone thing, i hit the temp button on the OBC to confirm its not just my instrument cluster messing with my head.

and yep.....

after thinking about it on the drive home, and glancing over to see if there would be any changes (and seeing none)...i decided that with all the talk of the trip to get the 535i, my 525i was starting to get upset and decided to express its unhappiness with me. thus the negative 535.

The next morning it read normal temperature. and has ever since...

i didnt drive it for 2 days after that. i turned the key over the 3rd day and the temp was fine, bit had a horrible hesitation. felt like my 5k mile old knock sensors went bad again.

drove it straight to the shop where i introduced the two cars to each other. the hesitation went away and i havent had a single problem since.

its wacky i tell ya.

Lol, that is the mph button with the button to set the 100s digit above it and the mpg button with the button to set 1s digit above it. It isn't saying that the averages are 1 mph and 100 mpg lol.

And thats great stuff. I always thought the E34 had a mind of its own. I remember getting out of my car and the lights being on and it starts binging and "headlights on?" pops up like it doesn't know for sure...smart butt car haha.

Cherokees are nice, 4l i6, we had a 92 that ran real good. Also have a wrangler, same year and motor, that has 3" lift and big tires. All beefed out so to speak. Can't wait for pics of the 535!
