| I was driving with 4 other peopl in my car, we were going to dinner. I stopped at a light and we look over and there is a girl who goes to the same college. So we roll down the drivers side windows front and back and we're talking, invite her to go with us ect. She's in a fairly new civic auto. The light turns green and I start to go, suddently I hear her tires squel and she begins to take off. I was doing a "normal" start (5spd). So i hit the gas and let the clutch out quicker. In the proccess slip it a bit much, and off I go. She's already about 3/4 of a car length ahead because I wasn't expecting it. So i start to catch up as I shift to second. She stops accelerating at 45 mph I was less than a 1/4 car length behinde at that point. Then we get stopped by the next light. THis time I'm ready and when the light shifts I get a great launch and by the time i get to second she is starting to see the back side of my car, I let off the gas around 45 mph, speed limit in the area was 40. The road split upahead and I went right to go to dinner and she went left. Not bad for my first race in my BMW especially with 5 ppl in the car, 1 over 200 lbs and one around 250 lbs. Just a friendly race nothing serious. |
