I was pulling out my workplace's driveway and about to make a left turn across the median when this big ugly white thing comes roaring down the road from around a bend in the road. This dude was going well over 40 miles and didn't see me until about 20-30 feet distance. He was coming right for my driver's side door. My entire body and mind froze thinking I was dead (95s don't have side airbags-but that wont have made any diff. anyway).
However, even though my foot was off the pedal and brake my Beemer kept drifting slowly across the median into a ditch on the other side of the road. The guy was swerving like mad, in a panic all over the road, trying to avoid me and missed my rear end by inches. His FX knocked out a stone wall at the entrance, flipped over and was totaled.
From where I was it sounded like a 747 Jet exploded behind me. When I got out, I saw that the guy was okay. He had to crawl out the back door. The front of the FX was totally smashed in and every airbag in the FX had popped open. Luckily the guy didn't have a scratch on his body. Plus, he was a Millionaire so he didn't care about his FX at all.
He was actaully a cool guy and made sure we were okay. Me and my passenger were more shaken up than him. Had he hit my car and I lived I would died again when I when I saw that my Beemer was totalled only after 2 months of driving it.
Then again him being a millionaire I may have gotten my self a 2005 3 series out of it, but then again I think back to that day and that moment when I looked up at that FX bearing down on me I know had he hit me I would've been dead!
umm, did i miss something here? What it seems to me is that you were so focused on this guys speeding you let your car "drift" out into the middle of the street, just waiting there for him to hit you? Did you cause this accident or what? used

Nah Man! I pulled out when I was supposed to. It was clear on both sides. Now keep in mind the speed limit is 30 mph on that road and drops to 25 mph at that curve, plus it was a school zone. He knew what he was doing, that is why he ran out and checked to see if we were okay when he FLIPPED. When the cops came and investigated I couldn't be placed in the accident because my car was accross the yellow lines when he crashed. There was no way I was going to speed up and crash into that ditch or hit the breaks and let him slam into me. I did the only thing I could have done...nothing.
That guy was swerving like mad all over the road!
Look at the picture again...see where my car (the red beemer) was when he crashed!
I was way out of his way...luckily.
