BMW has dropped the top on its all-new M4, ahead of the model’s debut at the New York Auto Show.

Like the BMW M3 and M4, the M4 convertible is powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbo straight-six engine with 431 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque. Mated to the standard six-speed manual transmission, the M4 convertible accelerates to 62 mph in 4.6 seconds while the optional seven-speed M Double Clutch Transmission allows it to accelerate quicker at 4.4 seconds. The top speed of the M4 convertible will be electronically limited at 155 mph.

The specifications aren’t much of a surprise however, but the German automaker did announce that the BMW M4 convertible weighs in at 3,858 lbs, about 132 lbs lighter than its predecessor. That is however, a substantial increase compared to the M4 coupe which weighs in at 3,300 lbs. Coming standard on the M4 convertible will be forged 18-inch BMW M wheels while 19-inch rollers will be available as an option in either Ferric Grey or Black.

Other than that, the M4 convertible is everything you’d expect it to be: a drop-top variant of the M4 coupe. Expect more information when the vehicle makes its official debut at the New York Auto Show with pricing and availability to come.
