Everyone has seen old hippy van painted to the nines or cars with wacky paint jobs driving down the street but you've probably never seen cars like this.
This type of art became popular enough in the last few decades for art car shows to materialize. BMW has been involved in art cars since the mid-1970s getting Andy Warhol and Sandro Chia to paint a piece for the gallery. The first BMW art car was a 3.0-liter CSL painted by Alexander Calder in 1975. BMW canvases have included the M1, Z1, E34 and E36.
