Track tests of the new new BMW 1 Series M Coupe are starting to take place and according to one of the most recent, the turbocharged mini-M is a force to be reckoned with.
In the latest issue of Sport Auto magazine the editors there managed a 1:14.1 lap time at Germany's Hockenhiem circuit. That's a tenth faster than the current M3 equipped with a dual-clutch transmission – making us wonder just how fast it could be if equipped with a DCT.
The 1M isn't, however, faster than any M3, with the old E46 M3 CSL model still holding that title for the Mag around Hockenheim, with a 1:13.5.
