Some info on the next-generation 2018 BMW 3 Series has been uncovered.
According to Automobile, the car will have a softer ride than the current iteration, but that doesn’t mean it won’t handle. Adjustable dampers, a torque vectoring system, switchable anti-roll bars and an active steering system will all be used to apparently allow the 3-Series to be softer, while also being better at carving corners.
The list of performance upgrades doesn’t stop there either. Adaptive suspension that can adjust camber on the fly, bigger brakes, better bearings, advanced all-wheel drive and aluminum/carbon-fiber compound wheels will all be used. BMW’s all-new cluster architecture (CLAR) platform will underpin the new 3 Series and will eventually support the entire lineup of rear-drive BMWs.
