A single photo of BMW's new 6 Series Cabriolet has appeared online courtesy of the folks at AutoBild, but the story is more than just a simple leak. The photo itself is actually a doctored version (and quite a good one we might add) of another photo of the 6er drop-top from what one BMW insider says is a BMW accessories catalog.
It seems the folks at AutoBlid got a hold of the original photo and managed to up the grainy quality and remove someone who was standing in front of the car.
As this is out first look at the new 6 Series Cabriolet, we liking it, but not loving it. There's still a lot of the current 6ers front end (at least from the angle shown), while the rear gets a distinctive adjustment to look more like the Z4. Overall, it seems like a product of BMWs rather tame design department.
We do love the wheels, but those won't be factory equipment. Instead, they're part of the accessories offered for the new 6 Series. Set to debut in the coming months (LA Auto Show perhaps), BMW will offer a 650 coupe and convertible with the new 400-hp twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8, as well as a 640i coupe and convertible with the turbocharged inline-six and finally a 650xi in both hard top and retractable top forms.
