What can we do to this site to make it friendlier? I'm looking at our numbers in relation to number of members, thrads, and posts and know other forums that have 1/8th the members but the same amount of posts as us.
I'm not just talking about happier threads. I think we need to somehow consolidate parts of our forum or somehow making more of our popular sections open and linkable to other sections. Allowing for members in each section to meet easch other. It seems the e21/e30 section members dont converse much with e36 and m3 guys. Same with the 5 series split witht he rest of the forum, and as fun as our members lounge is, we onl have the same people posting over and over again.
Any ideas?

eh, i mainly stay in the E36 section and lounge area, but I sometimes check the other sections. I think people just stay in the areas they know... I cant relate to much other than the E36 because that all i drive... I know what you mean tho.
Moving the User CP and Private messages to a smaller side block and dropping a "New Posts" search into the top level portal would save me a click. Other than that it seems to be a fairly good site.
Yea because saltshaker has like no life he sits on this site whole day, i dont know what he does whole day but more than 1700 posts makes sense about salty..
I am just kiddin.
Well about the site they should make the site more flashy like it has pictures and stuff and instead of the E36 and E30 and other car model links, they should have car pictures displayed there, so people dont get in to wrong sections.
They should make the site and give it a option to change themes which can be simply done by clicking at a theme link so every user can set to his own preferences,
I dont know if they can do it, but i would suggest to add a flash chat for every post that is active so we can discuss the problem directly with the people instead of wating for them to answer.
Well these were some of my major points but i have more ill post em tomorrow i dont want to make the reply too big.

Well one of them is im always looking for stuff on the for sale section, but i hate it when i have to look through pages just to find out it has been sold months or years or weeks ago. The stuff that has been sold doesnt get updated. So its a real pain in the butt to find out if it has been sold or not. If its still for sale then the thread should still be open, if the item has been sold and the thread is still open why cant people just simply say "SOLD" and close the damn thread or the moderators could do it. The for sale section could be allot easier to use. Just a thought.

One more thing, i think there should be a waiting period for new poeple that sign here to sell things and then disappear. It clutters the forum, and all they do is get a username, sell what they sell and they vanish forever, i hate that $hit. On the other car forums i go to, new people have to wait for 100 posts to sell things and also to view the offtopic area. This prevents spammer comming here and try to sell there crap on here and prevent trolls from lurking around. Other than that this site is really quiet.
