ok sierioulsy though i don't know, because most people find a forumn they like and stick with it, so those 10,000 people that are not active are either really bussy, or have found another forumn to go to, i don't know why they would do that i've been on quite a few forumns and i know this one is th best and most helpful
Maybe try sending an inactive notice via email. If they do not become active within 30 days delete the account, and request activity at least once a month to keep from being deleted.
This is something my local forum did, it weeded out all of the junk accounts and did make a few inactive accounts active. Although my local is no where near the size of this community..
send out a mass email. to the members that have less than x number of posts and their last logon was xxx days ago saying their account will be deleted..
if their post count goes up last logon becomes more recent they get to keep their membership.
noodles has the skills to pull such a thing off im sure.

Yea, I could do it, but threating members with account deletion may not make them come back :P
I might do a mailout and tell them that we've got a new look board or something
wouldn't deleting members mess up the whole board. pm's, profiles, post counters etc work off the member number, and not the actual username. that would mess it up so bad.

but it would only be to members that havent been on for a while. so if they care they will be coming back. if they dont free up a few K in the DBs.

yes info is based off the user numbers. but removing users doesnt change our user numbers or the next incoming users number. so things would keep working.
