412 KB !!! Me and you and some others may have DSL/ Cable and/or fast computers, but there are still people that are on 56k.
I say we make a rule where a sig can't be larger than 100k, because everything over that is way too big... also limit the height to 200ish. I don't see why some people need sigs that are always bigger than their post..
can we implement the type of system dsmforums.com uses ? they made it so that your sig only shows up the first time you post in a thread. after that its no sig.
I think individual members can turn off signatures in their options, so if you're on a modem and don't want to see all the signatures, turn it off:
Go to "My Controls" at the top of the page (in the dark blue bar)
Then under Board settings there's "Do you wish to view members signatures when reading topics?", just set it to No

that sounds like the best idea to resolve the problem

I think that size shouldnt matter that much. Because sometimes, a highquality jpeg can be over 100k. and i think the idea of a link to the sig is lame(slver e39), i understand what your saying, but that would be a hassle.
I think the limit should be 250k. and no audio.

i'm not an admin, but i saw a sig and it was like a whole scene out of a movie...i can't remember who had it but i'm on cable and it slowed my comp down a little bit, i think you shouldn't hav audio or animation, just post pics of your car with name on it, that's what a sig should be...
there's my 2 cents
